New information about our Morriseau painting

We have been researching the work of Norval Morriseau in an attempt to learn more about this original Woodland Art by Norval Morriseau. There is a fury of debate that has been fired up since shortly before his death in 2007 that is carrying on to the present. We have no interest in the debate per se as we are not a dealer of his works, but stand in awe of the forces of lawyers and venomous commentary that now surrounds the beautiful, original and visionary works of this master of the Woodlands School.

We have been advised that the origins of the piece in our collection date back to 1962, a time when the artist was first "discovered" by Jack Poillock of the Pollock gallery in Toronto. More information concerning the symbolism and meaning of the work is emerging. We look forward to sharing the updated information at Gallery MCNABS.NET: Canadian fine art as it becomes available.

Thanks to those who have shared information with us in this respect.
